X-rays and CT

54 Bokserska St, unit U1, 02-690 Warsaw, Mokotów

X-rays and CT scans show what cannot be assessed by examination alone. They let us assess more precisely, among other things, decay between the teeth, the condition of the roots and bone, and the position of teeth and anatomical structures. On site at 54 Bokserska St in Mokotów we take single-tooth X-rays, panoramic X-rays, 3D CT scans and intraoral scans. We choose the test for the specific situation and what we want to check – not every test is needed for every patient.

A jaw model, a CBCT scanner and a panoramic X-ray on the screen in the surgery

Single-tooth X-ray 80 zł, panoramic X-ray 150 zł, 3D CT from 150 zł, intraoral scan 250 zł. Mokotów, 54 Bokserska St, unit U1.

What patients write (in Polish)

Zdecydowanie polecam!

What patients write (in Polish)

Do dr.

Ogromna wiedza i doświadczenie. Serdecznie polecam!

TYPES OF IMAGES

Which tests we carry out

Each diagnostic test gives different information, so we choose the image for the specific situation and the planned treatment. We do not carry out tests that are not needed – first we decide what we want to check.

Single-tooth X-ray

A small, precise image of one or a few teeth. It shows, among other things, decay between teeth, the condition of fillings, roots and the tissues around the root, and the results of root canal treatment.

80 zł

Panoramic X-ray

An image of all the teeth and the jawbones in one picture. It helps assess the overall condition of the teeth, roots and bone, and the position of wisdom teeth and impacted teeth.

150 zł

3D CT scan (CBCT)

A three-dimensional test that lets us assess the teeth, roots, bone and surrounding anatomical structures precisely. We take it when it is needed to plan treatment precisely, for example before an implant, when removing impacted teeth or in complex root canal cases.

We match the area to the need:

  • a section – 150 zł,
  • one arch – 250 zł,
  • both jaws – 350 zł.

Intraoral scan

A three-dimensional image of the teeth taken with an intraoral scanner – without radiation. We use it in diagnostics and when planning, among other things, veneers, bonding, crowns and aligner treatment. The scan can also be viewed on screen, which makes the planned treatment easier to understand.

250 zł

REFERRAL

Referral and what to bring

A panoramic X-ray and a 3D CT scan require a referral from a doctor, also when you have the test privately.

If you are our patient, the dentist issues the referral during the visit when they consider the test necessary – you do not need to get one separately.

You can also have a test with us if you are treated at another practice. If you have a referral from your dentist, you pay only for the image. If you do not have a referral, a consultation with our dentist is needed before the test – it costs 200 zł.

It is worth bringing earlier X-rays or CT scans to the visit if you have them. This lets us compare the current state with earlier tests and avoid repeating diagnostics unnecessarily.

SAFETY

Radiation dose and pregnancy

Are dental X-rays safe?

Dental examinations use very small doses of radiation. As a rough guide, an intraoral X-ray is about 1–8 µSv, a panoramic X-ray 4–30 µSv, and a small or medium field-of-view CBCT scan usually up to about 50 µSv.

For comparison, according to the National Atomic Energy Agency (PAA), a resident of Poland receives on average about 2550 µSv a year from natural sources, which is about 7 µSv a day. Doses from dental examinations can therefore be compared with the radiation we are naturally exposed to every day, and with the radiation on a short flight. Even a banana contains a natural potassium isotope that comes with a tiny dose of radiation.

The final dose depends, among other things, on the type of examination, the device, its settings and the area imaged. That is why we do not take X-rays “just in case” – we order each examination when it is needed to make a diagnosis or plan treatment.

Pregnancy

If you are pregnant or think you may be, tell us before the test. During pregnancy we do not take planned X-rays or 3D CT scans – we postpone diagnostics until after the birth.

THE PROCEDURE

What the test looks like

No special preparation is needed. Before the image we ask you to remove jewellery around the head and neck, glasses and removable dentures or appliances.

For a single-tooth X-ray a small sensor is placed in the mouth. For a panoramic X-ray and a 3D CT scan you stand or sit at the unit while its arm rotates around your head. Taking the image itself is quick.

We can go through the result with you on screen – what the test shows and what it means for further treatment.

We send the images by email – you get a download link within a few days of the test. If you need the images on a disc, we can prepare it straight after the test.

FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions

The most common questions

Do I need a referral for a panoramic X-ray or CT?

Yes. A panoramic X-ray and a 3D CT scan require a referral from a doctor, also when the test is private. A single-tooth X-ray does not need one.

Can I have an X-ray with you if I am treated elsewhere?

Yes. If you have a referral from another dentist, you can have just the test with us. If you do not have a referral, a consultation with our dentist is needed before a panoramic X-ray or CT scan. The consultation costs 200 zł.

How much does a panoramic X-ray cost?

A panoramic X-ray costs 150 zł and a single-tooth X-ray 80 zł. A 3D CT scan costs from 150 zł for a section to 350 zł for both jaws.

Are dental X-rays safe?

Yes. These are very small doses of radiation, and we carry out tests only when they are needed. For comparison: a single-tooth X-ray is usually about 1–8 µSv, a panoramic X-ray 4–30 µSv, and a small or medium field-of-view CBCT usually up to about 50 µSv. To show the scale, they can be compared with the natural radiation we are exposed to every day, and with a short flight. Even a banana contains a natural potassium isotope that comes with a small dose of radiation. Most importantly, we carry out each test only when it is really needed for diagnostics or treatment planning.

Can I have a dental X-ray while pregnant?

No. During pregnancy we do not take planned X-rays or 3D CT scans. If the test is not urgent, we postpone it until after the birth. That is why you should tell us about a pregnancy, or a suspected one, before the test.

When is a 3D CT scan (CBCT) needed?

A CT scan is not simply a "more precise panoramic X-ray" and does not replace it in every situation. We take a CBCT when we need a three-dimensional assessment of a specific area, for example before an implant, when planning the removal of an impacted tooth, assessing complex root anatomy or in difficult root canal cases. We match the area of the scan to the specific problem.

Is an intraoral scan an X-ray?

No. The scan is taken with an intraoral camera, without radiation. It shows the surface of the teeth and is used, among other things, when planning bonding, veneers, crowns and aligner treatment.

Do you take X-rays on site?

Yes. At 54 Bokserska St, unit U1, in Mokotów we take single-tooth X-rays, panoramic X-rays and 3D CT scans. We also take 3D intraoral scans on site.

How do I get my images?

You receive the images by email – we send a link to download them. If you need a disc, we can prepare it after the test.

How much does an intraoral scan cost?

A 3D intraoral scan costs 250 zł. It is taken with an intraoral scanner, without radiation.
