How they run treatment
She starts with a conversation and a careful examination. She wants to get to know the patient, their expectations and what they would like to change. Only on that basis does she present the possible solutions and agree the scope and order of treatment with the patient.
She looks at the smile more broadly than individual teeth. She combines knowledge of cosmetic dentistry, prosthodontics, occlusion and aesthetic medicine, so when planning she can take into account not only how the teeth look but also how they meet, the bite, the proportions of the smile and its relation to the face.
Aesthetic medicine gives her an extra perspective on the aesthetics of the whole face. When assessing a smile she considers its effect on the lower third of the face, its proportions and how a change in the shape or position of the teeth may affect how the face looks.
She also performs botulinum toxin treatments for the masseter muscles. Her knowledge of anatomy, the bite and occlusion lets her see tension in the masseters not only as an aesthetic problem but also in the wider context of how the masticatory system works.
She does not suggest more extensive treatment if the problem can be solved more simply. She matches the scope of treatment to the real need, the condition of the teeth and the patient's expectations.
With every plan she makes it clear what needs treating now, what can wait and what is enough to keep an eye on.
Education and scope
She graduated from Jagiellonian University Medical College in 2012. She has also completed postgraduate studies in aesthetic medicine at the Kraków School of Health Promotion.
She works in conservative, cosmetic and prosthetic dentistry – from treating decay and rebuilding teeth, through bonding and veneers, to prosthetic treatment.
She also has knowledge of occlusion and the bite, which she uses when planning cosmetic and prosthetic treatment.
In aesthetic medicine she performs, among other things, botulinum toxin treatments for the masseter muscles.
